Description

To complete the import-as workflow from the CLI, it would be useful to have token support like scc to allow creating long-lived sessions for users which can then be hard-coded in cron jobs and similar.

Seb might do some initial changes for this along with any "-k" though this will largely be pushed to 5.1.x. Some thoughts:

  • bin/omero sessions currently is concerned with *local* sessions (i.e. ~/omero/sessions)
  • "tokens" (though the name can be changed) represents keys that live on the server for some given timeout.
  • we may need some form of flag in the DB to recognize long-lived sessions
  • shares should be separated from tokens.
  • history of token usage should be available as with ​https://github.com/settings/security

Goal for 5.1.1 will be to fix existing bugs/limitations with local sessions. Pushing this to 5.1.2.
