Click on edit button to turn off. It does not work

To test:

Click on the edit button next to the name.
- Black border and caret should be displayed.
Click on the edit button again
- Black border and caret should not be displayed.
Check for an object with long name to make sure the full name is displayed when in edit mode and short name if not.
