Description

Hi,

At the moment we don't have user deletion (#11779), so could we please adjust bin/omero user email such that it's possible to exclude the user accounts which have had status set to inactive.

This is the only way to avoid emailing users who have had accounts on OMERO servers in the past who no longer wish to receive email relating to the server.

Perhaps PR 2127 https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/2127 will negate this requirement - but it'd still be good to have it in the base CLI.

Another (additional) idea is a way to make inactive users less linked to their previous accounts:

  • null email
  • change last name to "(disabled) Lastname"

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

PR opened: https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/2184

At the moment, this simply filters.
