Several warnings are issued during compile. These should be silenced.

So do these warnings go away once we require Java 6+?

Obviously there's not much detail here, but I would think even in Java6 you would need to add the annotations, no?

Either this was completely done and can be closed, or needs only slight cleaning up.

There are still warnings, but I don't see any particular Java5 ones. Closing and we can all keep working to reduce the overall build noise.
This is a cleaning, purifying kind of thing. RC ho!
