If test is followed, select one image thumbnail, shift click the thumbnail to the left of it. Inconsistant selection (two thumbnaills, but one tree node). See screenshot.

The selection problem in browser only happens when you select 2 thumbnails side-by-side.
Could you try by selecting a different range?

Problem only 2 side by side.
3, ok, 4, ok, 5, ok, 6, ok.
If you try a 1 (that is have none selected and then shift-click on an image) it selects all the images up to and including that one. This is correct I think.

If 3 or more is selected then the "Details" and "Contained in" section vanish. But you can still get to the Preview tab and it shows one of the images.
To get to the preview tab, squeeze the right hand panel till you get arrows on the top tabs. Then click right arrow twice.

Ok the preview should not be accessible neither should be the acquisition tab. Good point.

Note that the same problem will appear when you select a dataset or a project. That's a different problem, see #7783
