Description (last modified by wmoore)

Seems this bug is only on IJ 1.44. I don't have a problem with IJ 1.43 with the OMERO 4.3.1 plugin.

From Mark W.

When clicking 'View' or double-clicking on an image in the ImageJ OMERO browser I get the message 'An error occurred while loading the image.'

This is when using a clean install of:

http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/download/zips/ij144.zip

with

http://cvs.openmicroscopy.org.uk/snapshots/omero/OMERO.imagej-4.3.1.zip

and Sun JRE 1.6.0_26 on Linux with OMERO server 4.3.1.

There is no stack trace printed. Martin has seen the same problem on Windows.

I see the same problem using OS X 10.5

wjm:OMERO will$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_30"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_30-b03-389-9M3425)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_30-161, mixed mode, sharing)

Hi Melissa - I only assigned this to you since JM is away, but if you don't see anything obvious, I think he will still be back in time to fix for 4.3.3!

Thanks!

I think we determined that the problem happens when loci_tools.jar isn't in the ImageJ plugins folder. So probably this just needs a documentation update, so that users know that they need to install loci_tools.jar separately.

I had a discussion with Josh prior to 4.3.0 release about that, and we decided not to add code to check if the loci_tools.jar was or was not there.
We assumed that people will have it install. Adding a note for now will be enough.
