Description
This happens when viewing images with several channels in "split" view with compression set on medium or high. If the first three channels are red, green and blue (the order does not seem to matter), the red and green channels become binary images.
I noticed it happens also on images with only 2 channels : if they use two of the primary colors, the same behavior is observed as if a third channel used the missing primary color. For example, if channel 1 is green and channel 2 is blue, channel 1 will appear as a binary image (only in the split view with compression on) and if channel 2 is red, both will be affected...

- Status changed from new to accepted
- The mask approach and the way the image are scaled down is the fastest when no compression.
- When the image is compressed, the mask can lead to some strange results for some color (e.g. red).

To test:
- open an image with several channels, set to either red, green or blue (not 2 channels with the same color)
- Go to the split view tab
- view the image with no compression
- view the image with compression level set.

Tested with 2, 3 and 4 channel images and working in: http://hudson.openmicroscopy.org.uk/job/OMERO-merge-blue/62/

(In [6b5a14c2d638ee932f9fdc0427b9ae1710f1619a/ome.git] on branch develop) Fix split view and compression
When the compression level, using a mask on channel
can lead to some strange results (close #7800)
Take opportunity to compare time gain using the mask and retrieving each image and faster scaling library.
Note that the scaling library does not work well with the mask approach.
