Stale jars can bring down the server.

Description

Stale jars have been known to bring down the server. This only happens occasionaly (certain server/client combinations) and is most likely caused by the server devs failing to increment the serialVersionUID. However, it may be necessary to put a check in place so that stale class data doesn't get into Hibernate.

  • Milestone changed from GatherReqs to OMERO-Beta4.1
  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

serialVersionUID incompatibilities are no longer a problem with Ice remoting (as opposed to RMI). Closing.
