BUG: Insight webstart desktop icon defaults to offline so Insight isn't updated

Starting Insight webstart from a desktop icon does not check for updates.
http://stackoverflow.com/a/15023667 suggests this might be fixable by adding <shortcut online="true" and/or modifying the web server configuration. Will need some investigation.

If this is about the icon in the dock of mac or the taskbar of windows, then the situation is as follows on 5.1-RC1: On windows, the icon shows the Insight symbol. On Mac OS X 10.8 it shows just the Java cup icon.

This isn't about the appearance of the icon, it's to do with the behaviour. Niko's expectation was that when you open Insight from the icon Insight webstart should check whether OMERO has been upgraded and automatically update itself if so, but it doesn't.

Java webstart will be removed in 5.2.
No work planned in 5.1.x line, closing this ticket.
Note the shortcut icon code was removed in 5.1 https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/3455 so I don't know what the current behaviour is.
