Import and thumbnails generation

The importer still uses the createThumbnailsByLongestSideSet.
Thumbnails Methods using sets are buggy and have performance issues
The creation of thumbnails in batch uses methods like retrieveThumbnailsSet which have performance issues.
It should be replaced by method using getThumbnail instead.

Josh - is it something we can tackle for 5.0.2? Is my branch still useful in any way?

Jburel: what do you think? My suspicion is that we should close this and wait until a pressing reason arises again.

I will close it for now. It has been mainly an issue for client usage (browsing a large number of datasets) and regenerating thumbnails due to the re-usage strategy of the rendering settings.
The first point has been addressed to give more feedback to users, the second will be tackled. So I will close it for now.
