PNG images showing up as 3x3

Importing PNG images seems to result in greyscale images being imported that are tiled 3x3 (they are a 3rd normal size).

After downloading the latest bio-formats issue is still present. Also happens with the test engine. Will have to coordinate with Melissa on the problem.

Seems to be a channel filter problem, will have to debug and track it down.
