Milestone OMERO-Beta4.2.1

4.2.1 contains over ​300 server, importer, and web improvements including bug fixes and a complete re-working of delete, ​140 Insight improvements, and ​45 Bio-Formats improvements.

For users, the primary visible difference in 4.2.1 will be that delete is much faster, more complete, and more widely available. For example, deleting a 384 well plate now takes one or two minutes, and that includes the deletion of the binary data, which previously was being left behind for an adminstrator to remove. • bin/omero is now more lenient about ownerships on var/ (#2979)
• Server now shutdowns completely if start failed (#2862)
• bin/omero admin diagnostics now checks permissions on omero.data.dir (#2986)

Known issues

Some of the issues which we were not able to correct for 4.2.1 include:

• Changing of group permissions for very large groups can be very slow (#2872)
• Data created/imported in a group cannot be moved to another group.
