This task covers the initial feedback of the revision to the group interface.

Summary of user feedback for the change group

• Importing see #8010

The current location of the group icon is not easily obvious, and so importing
into the last group you were working into what group is actually set by the group icon button needs to be more prominent.

The discussion to help avoid this was to have the group selection in the location selection window that pops up when you add the data. This is so that it enforces the decision of where the image data is imported in a group.

• Data manager

The initial impression of the group in the interface was positive. The outstanding comment was
to know what groups, I am a member of from the very beginning and so there was no requirement
to have open the default group.

The major question from this was that M did typically not work between groups and so the compare and contrast of data between groups was not fully explored.

The use of the right click for adding users to the group would be more usable if it was kept in the top tool bar. This was identified because the right hand click had a small set of options for adding users. There was some further discussion about adding users to the groups as a dialogue box. I shall look into this as it will need some further discussion about the way it could work. See #8011

The one benefit of the current system is that is that the group view provides a container
for the context, with displaying multiple groups we will have to look back on is
to ask if this is preserved in the new workflow.
