Need to think of how we want to use & reuse Django templates ourselves and how we want other developers to use them.

First Goal

  • Create new Django app with:
    • Base template - nothing added
    • Base +/- OME logo +/- links
    • OME logo, links, header
    • OME logo, links, header & three columns
    • Alternative logo / header / links (extend existing ones)
    • Apply different classes to <body> etc.
  • For each case, Only include necessary css, jQuery / javascript libs

More Advanced

  • Custom content of webclient centre / right panels
  • Reuse metadata panels (E.g. in image-viewer, another app etc)
  • Customise existing webclient / webgateway (E.g. image-viewer)
  • Add extra buttons to tool-bars (E.g. launch my app with selected images -cf Scripts)

We have enough use-cases now to plan some work. If we find more, we can add them in future.
