33Rationale: This information is encoded in many different file formats and we currently have no way to represent this in a standardised form, or to export the rendering settings from OMERO.  This is of particular importance where the same rendering settings are required over a collection of images for valid scientific interpretation.  Case in point: a user uploading images to the JCB dataviewer carefully set the rendering settings identically on groups of related images (controls and treatments) for valid comparison and these were lost upon import.  While it's possible to manually set all the rendering settings after import, that's far from ideal and in the case of large datasets and screens is also impractical.  We should be able to make use of the data in the original file.
