BUG: Win XP on VM does not open Insight

Description
Using build from Howe and Gretzky, on Windows XP, using VM.
The Insight after login shows the "Network is down..." message - it never opens and shuts down (see screenschots).
This might be connected with the fact that this is VM.
But it does not happen with Windows 7, which I run also on VM - both Gretzky and Howe build open there okay.
It does not happen on Remote Desktop connection (Windows2003). Nevertheless, the Gretzky build, for the non-_64 Insight cannot open because of the fact that the heap is too large there (see screenshot).
The _64 version of Insight from Gretzky is okay on Windows2003.

Changes made in https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/821
Could you try it again with tomorrow's build?

I have a running laptop with Windows XP installed on it. (i.e. not a virtual box appliance or virtual machine).
Downloaded today's build on Howe. OMERO.insight-4.4.6-489-8ebe32a-dirty-ice33-b178-win. Tried to log in to Howe. The "Connection..." popup appeared. After pressing "Shut down" (the only option left), the application closed.
Also tried the 4.4.6 version of Insight on this Windows XP machine (not VM). The same issue (connecdtion lost dialog) happened.
The same happened when running Insight as Plugin of ImageJ, version 4.4.6 (for end user, from the openmicroscopy downloads page). The only difference for the IJ plugin versions vs. normal Insight was, that for the plugins, the Connection lost popup was followed by another popup, saying "Failed to login to OMERO...". (see screenshots)
Interestingly, the user on the Forum today got further than me, being able to login to OMERO when running IJ plugin and using the platform independent version of IJ. For me, I have ended up with the same "Connection..." dialog as indicated above for the Insight, Insight-IJ (IJ = Win version) applications.
On this Windows XP machine, I have Java 1.7.0_t7 installed.

See https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoKiTAl8UOxndDg4NmxIcTFxb0MzQUhTYVZRTEZUWXc#gid=0 - when the PR https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/1345 is in, this problem is not there and Insight (build b304) opens okay on Win XP laptop java 1.7.0_25-b17.

- Resolution set to fixed
- Status changed from new to closed
This has been fixed by the various connections PR
see https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/1977
https://github.com/openmicroscopy/openmicroscopy/pull/1838
Just tested it on Win Vista at home (on windows machine) and it works okay, no problems as described above for WinXP.
