Description (last modified by crueden-x)

Ice allows communication with Bio-Formats via a client/server architecture. The server is a small bit of Java code that makes calls to Bio-Formats, and the client can be in any language Ice supports (C++, Java, Python, Ruby and PHP).

We should create a page on the Bio-Formats web site devoted to calling Bio-Formats from non-Java code via Ice.

For the time being, we have discontinued support for the Bio-Formats Ice bindings. I am closing this ticket until such time as we have a need to pursue a standalone inter-process Bio-Formats integration solution.
